To make things easier for the administrators in such cases, the Windows Server 2012 Active Directory domain controller allows them to disable the GPO settings, and re-enable them when the settings are required again.
In order to make the above discussed modifications in the GPOs, the Enterprise Admin or Domain Admin account credentials must be used. If the said accounts credentials are not used, you will not be able to make the required changes whatsoever.
Here is how you can disable the Windows Server 2012 GPO settings on the domain or a particular OU as required:

- If not already started, initialize the Server Manager window by clicking its icon from the bottom left corner of the window in the taskbar.
- On the opened Server Manager window, from the top right corner, click Tools from the menu bar.
- On the displayed list, go to Group Policy Management.
