How to Upload Files to SkyDrive in Windows 8

Microsoft hosts a Cloud service by the name of SkyDrive. Storage space on the SkyDrive can be obtained by creating a new Microsoft account. As soon as a Microsoft account is created, 7 GB of space on the SkyDrive is automatically assigned to the account for free.

If you need more storage, you can upgrade by paying (how much this will cost depends on how much storage you'll need).

In order to upload files to SkyDrive in Windows 8, follow these steps:

    ■Log on to Windows 8 computer with the administrator or standard user account.

    ■Make sure that computer is connected to an active Internet connection.

    ■Click SkyDrive tile from the Start screen.

    ■On Add your Microsoft Account screen, type the Microsoft account ID and password in the available fields.

    ■Once done, click Save.

    ■On the displayed screen, click to select the appropriate container to upload its corresponding
    file type to the SkyDrive.

    ■On the next window, right-click on the screen.

    ■From the displayed options at the bottom of the screen, click Upload.

    ■From the opened window, click to select the file that is to be uploaded to the SkyDrive. Optionally, multiple files can also be selected by pressing and holding the CTRL key.

    ■Once selected, click Add to SkyDrive button to upload the selected file to the SkyDrive.

How to Download Uploaded Files from SkyDrive in Windows 8?

In order to download uploaded files from SkyDrive in Windows 8, step-by-step instructions given below must be followed:

    ■Log on to Windows 8 computer with the administrator or standard user account.

    ■Make sure that the computer is connected to an active Internet connection.

    ■Click SkyDrive tile from the Start screen.

    ■On Add your Microsoft Account screen, type the Microsoft account ID and password in the
    available fields.

    ■Once done, click Save.

    ■On the displayed screen, click the container that contains the target file that is to be downloaded from SkyDrive.

    ■On the next screen, right-click the file that is to be downloaded.

    ■Form the displayed advanced options at the bottom, click Download.

    ■On the next screen, browse for the destination location on the hard disk where the selected files is to be saved.

    ■Once done, click Choose this folder button at the bottom of the screen.

    ■Click OK to download the file to the selected folder.
