Beginners Guide to Minecraft

This Tutorial addresses:
For some reason, people actually need a tutorial to play this game. Although it is very simple, there are some things that you should know that can help you.

1.) The most important thing to do first is get some wood, food, stone, and dirt. The wood will be used for tools, food for eating, stone for a furnace, and dirt for a temporary house.
It is necessary to get wood because without it, you will not be able to mine stone and hunt animals. You NEED stone for a furnace because it doubles the food value of food. A quick dirt house can save you from creepers, skeletons, and zombies. Just wait in it for the night until you are ready to continue.

2.) Be wary of your surroundings. Make sure there are no monsters in your vicinity so that you can gather resources safely. Even then, creepers like to randomly appear to blow you up and ruin your day, so constantly look around.

3.) Redstone isn't important. It's something that you should play around with once you have an established settlement with a surplus of resources.

4.) Make sure that if you die, you know where your house is after you respawn. In general, it's a good idea to have your house at or near your spawn area for the map. If you lose your house, you lose everything you had in it, and all the time put into it goes to waste. Also, having a house close to the respawn area helps for when you are starving and have no food. Simply put all your stuff in a chest in your house, die, respawn, and go back to your house. You will have a full hunger meter and still have all the stuff you had before.

5.) The Nether is an unnecessary risk. Just like redstone, you don't need to go in there. It's somewhere to go AFTER you have an established settlement and a surplus of supplies.

6.) When you have zombie meat, eat it all at once so that the 30 second sickness timer doesn't reset once you eat another piece. Also, do not eat anything else when you are sick from zombie meat, as it is a waste of food. Lastly, do not move, as it will drain your hunger slower.

7.) BEDS BEDS BEDS. Beds are a very important aspect of minecraft. Instead of sitting around at night waiting for day, you can just sleep through the night. They are very useful when there are a bunch of monsters outside.

8.) Monsters do not spawn in light. Therefore, planting as many torches as you can or living near some sort of light source will help greatly. Try to fill your property with torches to repel monsters.

9.) Don't live in the desert. There is no natural wood or food source, and monsters see you more.

10.) SAVE AND QUIT OFTEN. This will allow you to force close minecraft when something goes wrong, but you will still be able to get back to a point where you want to be. Creeper blew your house up? Force close and load that last save you had for the world. You don't lose anything, plus you will know to be more careful this time!

11.) HAVE FUN. The point of a game is to have fun, so if you stress over a game, that's no fun! Just enjoy it, and DOWNLOAD MODS :3
