Note: Although removing any library does not remove its contents physically from the hard disk drive, it is always a good practice to back up your data before performing the steps given in this tutorial. Below are the steps that would guide you through the process of resolving the documents.library-ms issue that you are facing:
- Log on to the Windows 8/8.1 computer.
- From the Start screen that comes up, click the Desktop tile to go to the desktop window.
- Right-click the File Explorer icon from the taskbar.

- From the displayed context menu, right-click the programmatic library. (Documents for this demonstration.).
- From the context menu that appears next, click Properties.

- On the opened Documents Properties box, click to select Documents from the Library locations list.

- Once selected, click the Remove button.
- Click OK to save the changes.
- Once you are back on the desktop, follow the steps from 3 to 6 to go back to the Documents Properties box.
10. From the opened interface, click the Restore Defaults button.

11. Once this is done, click OK to save the modifications that you have made.
12. Try opening the library. The issue should be resolved by now.
13. If the problem persists, restart the computer and then try again.
