In this tutorial you will learn how you can initialize the task manager in Windows 8/Windows 8.1.
Note: Although you can initialize the task manager using a standard (non-administrator) account in Windows 8, there are many processes that cannot be executed/terminated without the elevated privileges. This means that you might require the administrator account in order to perform many tasks in the task manager.
Here is how you can initialize the task manager in Windows 8/Windows 8.1:
- Log on to Windows 8/Windows 8.1 using any account.
- From the Start screen that appears, click the Desktop tile.
- On the desktop screen, right-click the taskbar that is present at the bottom of the screen.
- From the displayed context menu, click the Task Manager option.

- Once you click the option, the Task Manager box will be opened.

- If you are unable to view any running applications, you can click the More details button present at the bottom of the box to view the more detailed information that the Task Manager box contains.

Alternate method:
You can also press Alt + Ctrl + Delete keys on your keyboard simultaneously, and click the Task Manager option from the opened window to start the Task Manager in Windows 8/Windows 8.1.
