Disable Startup Programs in Windows 8

While working with Windows 8/Windows 8.1 for a couple of years/months, it is likely that you would install several software applications on the computer, where many applications among those might be automatically configured to get initialized when the computer starts. If the hardware configuration of your computer is quite decent and a heavy processor is installed, you would probably face no issues. However the case might be different if you are using an old PC and its hardware configuration is not too high. In such situations, if too many software applications are configured to get initialized during the system start-up, the boot time of the operating system might remarkably increase.

In order to avoid such situations, it is important for you to understand how you can disable some start-up programs so that you can decrease the boot time, and can make your Windows 8/Windows 8.1 computer start comparatively smoothly and quickly.

Here is how you can disable the unwanted programs from getting initialized during the Windows 8/Windows 8.1 start-up:

■Log on to the Windows 8/Windows 8.1 computer using the administrator account.
■From the Start screen, click the Desktop tile.
■Once on the desktop screen, right-click the taskbar from the bottom of the window.
■From the displayed context menu, click Task Manager.
