Can You Change the Size of a Windows 8 Lock Screen Photo?

YES you can.

However, just like any other sophisticated program, even Windows 8/Windows 8.1 has been designed to use the wallpapers on the lock screen that best fit the screen size. In other words, as per Windows 8/Windows 8.1 default configuration, only the photographs that are able to best fit the screen are used as the lock screen images.

If you want to change the size of the lock screen photograph, you need to take a workaround in which you can copy any existing lock image and save it as a different name. After this you can change the resolution and size of the copied image, configure Windows 8/Windows 8.1 accordingly, and can then use the modified image as the lock screen photograph.

Apart from the above, you can also choose any photograph of your choice to use it as the lock screen image, but you must configure the Windows 8/Windows 8.1 to accept the photographs that even do not fit the screen size.

Considering the above, one thing is common that you are required to configure Windows 8/Windows 8.1 computer to accept the images of different size as lock screen photographs. This configuration must be made manually, and the process of making the configuration is given below:

■Log on to the Windows 8/Windows 8.1 computer. (Using an administrator account would be preferable.)
■Once you are on the Start screen, hover mouse to the bottom right corner of the window.
■From the displayed Charms bar, click Settings.
