Google Chrome Sound Not Working in Windows 8/Windows 8.1

If you are facing this issue, the problem is not with Windows 8/Windows 8.1 but with the Google Chrome itself. Pre-23.x.x.x version of Google Chrome had this issue which was fixed with the release of 23.x.x.x version of the application.

In your case, if you are using Windows 8/Windows 8.1, it is expected that you are always connected to the active Internet connection, and due to Google Chrome’s default configuration, it might have automatically fixed the issue by now by updating itself automatically. However if this is not the condition, and you are not able to connect to the Internet regularly due to any reason, you must manually download the latest version of Google Chrome, and install it on your Windows 8/Windows 8.1 computer.

This tutorial assumes that you are still using the earlier version of Google Chrome, and the instructions given below will guide you through the process of downloading and installing the latest version of the web browser.

Note: You might be required to stay connected to the Internet till the time the latest version of Google Chrome web browser is successfully installed on your Windows 8/Windows 8.1 computer.

Here is how you can update the Google Chrome to the latest version:

■Log on to the Windows 8/Windows 8.1 computer using the administrator account.
■From the Start screen, click the Desktop tile.
■Once you are on the desktop window, click the Internet Explorer icon from the taskbar.

Note: Internet Explorer on Windows 8.1 is used in this demonstration. You can choose any web browser and/or any computer to download the latest version of Google Chrome, but the installation must be done on the Windows 8/Windows 8.1 computer that is facing the issues.
