- Lower the quality settings. If there are specific features you don't care about, such as having "excellent" graphics vs. "very good" graphics, reducing them can improve performance incredibly.
- Remove extra mods that you don't use. If you're using a modded game, there's a chance that the mod is very complicated and intense. This can easily lag a game that otherwise works fine.
- Check your computer's temperature. If your computer is too hot it will reduce performance overall.
- If you know how, increasing the RAM or buying better graphics cards will allow more intense games to run far more smoothly.
- If you're playing a multiplayer game, avoid crowded servers. The response time can be very slow on servers with large numbers of players on at once.
- Close any additional tabs. Running multiple programs at once is a fantastic way to slow down your games, especially the games that are graphically intense.
