Hey Everyone, Here is my mod of the CM Storm Scout Windowed Side Panel.
3 years after using the CM Storm Scout, I finally got around to modding this sweet case
I can't use the Window vent mounts because of the tallness of my CPU cooler
so I decided I wanted to get rid of the fan grills to allow me to see through better
While at it, I decided to change the mounts used to hold the Window to screws for a more "industrial" look
Removing Window
Here is a quick guide I filmed on how to remove the window from the side panel:
Cutting the Panel

Here is the layout of the window on the acrylic panel
The panel was protected with a plastic film coating, it turned out to be very useful for drawing the layout and indicating where the holes should be drilled

I filed the edges which were a bit pointy before, it looks really nice
Finished "product"

Here we go looks really sweet

I had originally decided to go for screws with "V-shaped" screwheads painted in black, I changed my mind and decided to go for a cylinder shaped one non painted, for a better (in my opinion) Industrial look

The new window isn't tainted which might be a turn-off to some, but for me, it allows for a clearer view on the components

Here is the backside of the beauty

The nuts and the extra screw length add to the industrial look, which I find gorgerous

The screw size overhead looks good, but its pretty big and 1 screw is just a tiny bit too big to close the panel when all the 5.25 inch bay "fast-locks" are secured
but this can be solved by either not using the last 5.25 inch drive bay or simply trimming the screw

This is what I was talking about , the bottom one needs to be in "unlocked" position
Conclusion
Voila, thanks for hanging by.
In the future I might mod this case even further as this was my first mod ever, it is pretty excited and make sure to stay tuned to this blog for more awesome stuff
