Note: The steps described below are not only Windows 8/Windows 8.1 specific but can be followed on Windows 7, or even on Windows XP to check the configuration of the available hardware inn the computer.
- Log on to Windows 8/Windows 8.1 using any account.
- Once logged on, click the button with the down arrow from the bottom-left corner of the Start screen.
- From the opened Apps window, under Windows System, click Run to open the Run command box.

- In the Run box text field, type MSINFO32 and press Enter.

- On the opened System Information window, from the left pane, click to select the System Summary tree.
- The complete system information can be seen in the right pane.

- Alternatively, you can also expand the Components tree, and from the expanded list, click to select each device type individually in order to view its detailed specifications.
