Since Windows 8/Windows 8.1 is not only designed for professional use but also for home users, developers have integrated various animation effects in the operating system. These animation effects can be experienced while right-clicking any object or on the desktop screen, opening any window, and even minimizing or maximizing any opened window. With such animation effects, your system becomes more interesting while working with it.
However, as the above title says, if you no longer experience any animation effects while minimizing/maximizing any opened and active window, it means that the default settings have been modified either manually or due to any other graphics oriented incompatible application. In such situation, you can change the settings back to default, or you can manually enable the animation effects for minimizing and maximizing of the windows only.
Here is how you can get the default settings, or at least the animation effects back in your copy of Windows 8/Windows 8.1 operating system:
10. Once there, click to select the Let Windows choose what’s best for my computer radio button to change the settings back to default.
11. If you want to keep the current settings intact, from the displayed options in the available list, check the Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing checkbox while leaving all other settings unchanged.
12. Click OK to save the changes.
13. Back on the System Properties box, click OK again and restart the computer in order to allow the changes to take effect.
