Why Pre-Built systems are a big Scam.

In this article I'll be talking about pre-built systems briefly and why you should consider building your next PC using your own hands even if that will take from your precious time and even if you haven't done it before as the famous quote says : " For everything there's a first time".

Everybody would definitely love himself a pre-built system within his hands instead of doing all the hard work himself , you'll definitely save yourself the tedious process of searching for the right parts online and asking others for second opinions then afterwards building and assembling all the parts as well as doing all the troubleshooting on your own . So Why do people build their own systems if its a tedious process that requires a lot of patience ?

First of all , in order to know why people build their own machines you need to know why they tend not to buy pre-built systems , in this part I'll talk from a personal point of view and from a personal experience . Generally companies that build these systems tend to advertise themselves by saying that this PC for example consists of an Intel i7 processor and Nvidia graphics card or 8 core AMD Processor Clocked at 4 Ghz and HD Radeon 3 GB graphics cards or whatever and people who aren't really into systems or don't possess enough information about systems will be deceived by their words . In most cases these companies rely on the power of advertisements to deceive the consumer into thinking that this system will be sufficient to play games or edit his videos easily.

People want the easy way almost always and a guy with only desire to play the latest titles would definitely be interested in the false adverts that these companies smartly spread around and I wouldn't blame either sides however enough of showing the problem and now to the problem itself.

Pre-built systems maybe can deliver good performance for a while but are you getting the most bang for your buck ? The answer is no and that's why people on the forums almost exclusively tell their fellow mates not to buy a prebuilt system but instead build their own .

Its true that self built systems prove to be the most bang for your buck in most cases but some would say that they prefer to pay more and not have to worry about troubleshooting or the tedious process of building their systems on their own.

So I'll explain briefly why pre-built systems are a big scam , First of all pre-built systems almost have this unbalanced mix of components. Let's get into details and lead by an example , if you go to Cyber power 's website and try to customize your system you won't get the model of the motherboard neither the power supply . Maybe you still don't get it , let's explain in details : In order to get the biggest profits they have to fill in using cheap parts and if you want to customize then you'll have to sacrifice either performance or your money.

Usually , Pre-built systems have bad power supplies of commercial brands or power supplies that say a certain amount of Wattage and doesn't deliver and are made of cheap capacitors that are know to fail under heavy workloads or even if you try to overclock moreover not every company have 100% perfect line , even companies like Corsair and EVGA who are known for their reliability have and still make cheap products like the CX-series and 500B / 600B respectively so even if you possess the basic knowledge sometimes you won't know that these manufacturers also happen to have their non-reliable products .

Moreover , systems like these have bad motherboards that don't have lots of features or don't allow overclocking or even further known to fail quite often . So what I am trying to say that these companies rely on the ignorance of the people in this department and their desire just to play the latest more demanding games without doing their research.

The majority knows about I7 processors and Nvidia's GTX series and these companies marketing campaigns depend heavily on the ignorance of people yet again in this department and the fact that these specific products are so various and aren't actually all the same thing so next time when you hear an advert on tv or on the internet telling you to buy the latest and greatest pre-built system consisting of an Intel Core I7 processor and Nvidia's GTX Processor you should realize that this is probably a scam and I am getting robbed legally.Of course for every rule there's an exception and for that reason I filled my tutorial with the world 'most'.

While for the most part an Intel core I7 processor is fine and dandy but do you really need that in a pc catered towards gaming and a cheap graphics card ? The Power of the system lies within the balance of the powerful processor that won't bottleneck your graphics card and a powerful graphics card that can deliver maximum performance and a stable framerate on good quality settings. So Generally the product's model or number is very important when choosing your parts , don't just settle for a GTX Graphics card but try and understand what these numbers mean , for example ( GTX 710-730 : is for very light gaming at low settings 720p , GTX 740-750 : for entry level gaming at 1080p low settings so don't expect much from it , GTX : 750Ti-760 is for good gaming performance at 1080p and so on ) and in the processors section usually the K besides the model number indicate that this processor is unlocked and can be overclocked while the absence of the K means that this CPU is locked to a certain frequency which is measure in Ghz. So do your research , don't be afraid to ask people before making your decision on which parts you'll actually need . ( Generally for gaming you don't need more than Intel i5 processor/FX-8xxx in the most demanding games )

Finally , when buying your next system you should take a deep thought and put yourself in these companies shoes' then see what possibly could be their justification for selling you the best in the market for these competitive prices without making you worry about the troubles of troubleshooting and updating your bios , just to realize that this is a scam and systems aren't only made of Intel's processors and Nvidia's graphics cards but there's more to it than just that.

Hopefully I'll publish a new article explaining the process of building your own system in details soon so expect a link to follow within the next couple of weeks and a video guide too.
