Locate Regional Trending Topics on Twitter

This Tutorial addresses:
  • Twitter
  • Configuration
Since Twitter allows users to switch between different locations to find the trends related to that particular area, many times users change the location to worldwide.

Using your profile, even if any of your friends or relatives has changed the location for the trending topics to check the trends related to their geographic location, it becomes important for you to revert the configuration back to default so that you can view the most recent trends from your region.

The process of locating the regional trending topics on Twitter is simple and straightforward. Here’s how:

  1. Sign-in to your Twitter account using the favorite web browser.
  2. Once the Home interface comes up, locate the Trends section at the left and click the Change link.

  3. On the Trends popup box, under the Nearby Locations section, if your desired location is not displayed in the available list (which could unlikely be the case if your region was set to display trends earlier), click the Select your Location link.
Note: In most cases you will find your location under the Nearby Locations list if your account was previously configured to display the trends from your local region. In such a situation, you can click the link with your region name to view the trends from your local area. If the case is otherwise, or you want to view trends from any other region, you can continue with step 4.

  4. In the next step, under the Select a location for your trends section, select the desired country and city from the Region/Country and City drop-down lists respectively.
  5. Finally click the Done button to get regional trends.

  6. On the Home page, under the Trends section located at the left, click on any regional trend that you wish you see. (E.g. London Trends in this demonstration)
