Obtain a Copy of All Your Tweets on Twitter

After you have successfully created your Twitter account and have used it for a while, you might want to back up all your tweets in order to save an offline copy of your Twitter data and tweets.
Apart from this, you might also want to back up the tweets so that you can view them even if you are unable to access your Twitter account, or if you have deactivated your profile for some reason.

Here’s how you can obtain a copy of all your Twitter tweats:

  1. Sign-in to your Twitter account using your favorite web browser.
  2. On the Home page, click the gear icon from the top-right corner.
  3. From the expanded list, click the Settings option.

  4. On the next window, under the Content section located at the right pane, click the Request your archive button.

  5. Once the Check your email popup box comes up, click the Okay button from the bottom.

  6. Check your email sent by Twitter and click the Go now button available within the mail. Alternatively, you can also click the link available below the Go now button.

  7. Once done, from the right pane, under the Your Twitter archive section, click the Download button.

  8. Finally on the Opening tweets.zip popup box, click to select the Save File radio button.
  9. Click OK to save the data on your local computer.
    Note: The installed operating system might ask you to browse for the location where you want to save the .zip file.

  10. Once the file is downloaded, you can extract the file and see all your tweets on your computer screen even when you are not connected to the Internet.
