Understanding things from the other side of the table, even your profile as a profile visitor is displayed on the other LinkedIn users’ accounts if you have ever visited their profiles. However, unlike other social networking sites, link that allows you to control this behavior, and you can remain completely anonymous from others. In other words, you can configure your LinkedIn profile in such a way that even if you visit other LinkedIn users’ profiles, they will not be able to see your name on the ‘Who’s viewed your profile’ page.
Note: When you choose to remain anonymous on LinkedIn, and you configure your account so that no one is able to see your name in their profile visitors list, even your profile visitors list gets erased, and you will not be able to view your profile visitors as well.
In order to remain anonymous on LinkedIn, you must follow the steps explained below:
- Using your favorite web browser, sign-in to your LinkedIn account.
- On the Home page, hover mouse over the Account & Settings icon (icon with the profile picture) located at the top-right corner.
- From the expanded list, click the Review link representing the Privacy & Settings option.

- On the next interface, ensure that the Profile tab is opened from the lower section.
- Under the Privacy Control section in the right, click the Select what others see when you’ve viewed their profile link.

- On the What others see when you’ve viewed their profile popup box, click to select the You will be totally anonymous radio button.
- Finally click the Save changes button from the bottom to apply the changes.
