View Received Messages without Using the Facebook Messenger App

This Tutorial addresses:
  • Facebook
  • Android
  • Messenger
Using Facebook on your Android mobile phone is no longer restricted to the use of Facebook Messenger app only. If you have a smart phone, and you do not want to install the Facebook Messenger app on your cellphone due to any reason, you can still access your Facebook account, and can send and receive the text messages while conversing with your Facebook friends.

In order to view the received Facebook messages without using the Facebook Messenger app on your Android smart phone, your phone must be connected to Internet, and any sophisticated web browser app must be installed on your cellphone. (You can download any efficient web browser app from the Google Play Store if you have an active Internet connection on your mobile device.)

Assuming that your Android smart phone is connected to the Internet, already has a web browser app installed in it, and does not have the Facebook Messenger app, below is the process using which you can view the received Facebook messages that have been sent to you by your friends on your Facebook profile:

  1. Turn on your Android Smartphone.
  2. Tap the Menu icon to display the apps list.

  3. From the displayed list, locate and tap your favorite web browser. (E.g. Google Chrome in this demonstration.)

  4. Once the web browser opens up, in the address bar, type www.facebook.com and hit Go button.

  5. If you are not already logged in, provide your login credentials in the appropriate fields and tap the Log In button.

  6. On the Home interface, tap the Messages icon from the menu bar at the top.

  7. From the Messages popup box, tap the See all messages link.

  8. Once done, on the next interface, from the displayed list of contacts, tap the desired contact whose messages you want to see.
