When your Windows 8 computer experiences the system failure, as per its default configuration, it automatically restarts.
Note: While restarting, the operating system asks you if you want to boot the OS in Safe Mode or start the Windows normally. You can choose any one of the available options as per your choice to boot the Windows.
The default configuration that allows Windows 8 to automatically restart every time the system failure occurs is integrated in the operating system in order to prevent the system files from getting corrupt due to abrupt computer shutdown. However, if you are using your Windows 8 laptop for some testing purposes, you might not want the computer to automatically restart due to system failures as you yourself may be initializing the system failure instances intentionally. In such situations, you can configure your Windows 8 laptop in a way that it does not restart when any system failure occurs.
Disabling the automatic restart in a Windows 8 laptop is an easy process but requires you to log on to the computer using an administrator account.
Here is how you can disable automatic restart on your Windows 8 laptop:
- Log on to your Windows 8 laptop with the administrator account.
- Click the Desktop tile once you are on the Start screen.
