With Airplane Mode in Windows 8, you can turn off Internet connectivity but can still use it to work offline. When your laptop is used in Airplane Mode, it can no longer be connected to the Internet until you restore the connection. It's perfect for traveling by - you guessed it! - airplane.

Since you can use all of your applications, listen to locally stored music, and/or watch the videos even if your Windows 8 laptop is set to Airplane Mode, you can still use your computer when you're not connected to Wi-Fi.

Here is how you can use the Airplane Mode in your Windows 8 laptop:

■Log on to your Windows 8 laptop.
■Once you are on the Start screen, click the Desktop tile.
