Step 1
Using your web browser, visit Google’s Shared Endorsements page. There, you’ll not only get the scoop on why Google thinks it’s okay to smack your face onto advertisements, but you will also be able to access the “Shared Endorsement in Ads” setting.
Step 2
To actually find the “Shared Endorsement in Ads” setting, scroll down to the bottom of your page. You will see only one option, which reads “Based upon my activity, Google may show my name and profile photo in shared endorsements that appear in ads.” You’ll also notice a checkbox, which is probably automatically checked to allow the endorsements.
Step 3
Uncheck the box to opt out of endorsements, then click “Save.” Your name and photo will no longer be used in Google’s advertisements.
