If you want to be known by your nickname instead of your regular one and have created a Google+ account, you can add a nickname to your account. When you add a nickname to your Google+ profile, it becomes visible to all of the people who have added you in their Google+ circles.

By default, no nickname is added to your Google + profile, and the Google+ profile setup process does not ask you to add one. However, once you have successfully created your profile on Google+, you can follow the instructions given below to add a nickname to your account:

  1. Turn on your computer system.
  2. Open your favorite web browser.
  3. On the opened interface, open Google+ by typing plus.google.com in the address bar, and press Enter.
  4. Once Google+ opens up, provide the login credentials in the appropriate fields, and click Sign in.

  5. On the Home page, hover mouse on the Home button at the top-right corner.
  6. From the displayed menu, click the Profile option.

  7. On the Profile window, click your user name under the profile picture.

  8. On the Edit your name pop up box, click More options (button with ‘+’ sign).

  9. From the expanded options, type your desired nickname in the Nickname field.

  • 10. Once done, click Save from the bottom-right corner to apply the changes.
