Besides importing the email contacts from the email address associated with your LinkedIn profile, LinkedIn also allows you to import the contacts from other email addresses such as Gmail, Hotmail and Yahoo! Mail. In addition to this, LinkedIn even allows you to import the contacts from Microsoft Outlook if you have configured any of your email addresses with that application.
Here is how you can import your email contacts to your LinkedIn profile:
- Log on to your computer system.
- Open your favorite web browser.
- Open the LinkedIn website by typing the link www.linkedin.com in the address bar and pressing the Enter key.
- If you are not already logged-in, provide your credentials in the appropriate fields, and click the Sign In button.

- Once the Home page opens up, hover the mouse over the Connections menu from the menu bar at the top.
- Click the Add Connections option from the displayed list.

- On the next interface, type your valid email address in the Your email field. (E.g. jacobmoore001@gmail.com in this demonstration).
Note: In most case, the Your email field will be pre-populated with your LinkedIn associated email address. If the case is otherwise, step 7 becomes mandatory.
- Finally click Continue to import the contacts from your email account.
