Step 1
To start, just make sure your screen is clean. Glare becomes much worse—and screens become much more difficult to read—when your screen is covered with smudges or splatters. Make a point of cleaning your screen once every couple of weeks.
Step 2
Sometimes, the best way to cut down on glare is to simply boost the brightness of your screen. You can do this easily with the F2 brightness adjuster key, which is located in the upper left-hand corner of the keyboard. If you are using your computer outside, this is often the easiest course of action you have for reducing glare. Be warned, though: higher brightness levels are harder on your eyes.
Step 3
Admittedly, cleaning your screen and being conscious of the brightness level are just temporary fixes for reducing glare on your MacBook Pro. If you want to eliminate the problem entirely, look around online for a matte screen protector for your MacBook. You’ll probably spend about $30 or $40 for a high-quality anti-glare screen protector, but with a matte finish over your screen, you’ll avoid a lot of the visibility issues that typically plague MacBook Pros and other devices with glossy screens.
As you can see, there are several ways to reduce screen glare on your MacBook Pro. Which is best for you depends on your particular situation and on how frequently you struggle with glare on your computer screen, but all are worth trying to at least partially correct the issue.
