Hello all welcome to my guide on the borderlands series.
For starters this game is a rpg/fps/coop game and extremely awesome game ,not every ones cup of tea but should be given try with the upcoming steam sale in june it would be swell to pick it up with all the dlc.
Classes
Borderlands ______________________________ Abilitys
Brick (Berserker) Berserk. Go on a rampage meleeing enemies dead/ makes great use of explosive weaponry especially shotguns
Lilith (Siren) Phase walk. phase walk is a very good ablity due to the fact she can get away from the heat of battle easy when low on health/ very powerful character with the right equipment (smgs/mercenary com) she will tear everything a new one
Mordecai (Hunter) Bloodwing. summons his pet bird bloodwing to kill a enemy count is increased with skills/very powerful character pistols are his specialty along snipers he is a force to be reckoned with when he has the right equipment
Roland (Soldier) Scorpio turret. summons a auto aim turrent to attack the enemy and with skills it will heal/ very good with all weapon type making him a good choice but not as op as hunter and siren
Borderlands 2 vanilla characters first then dlc
Character
Salvador Gunzerker Gunzerking/dual wield guns. One of the top characters of the game due to the fact his dps is extermly high, also one of the easiest characters to jump into
Favorite gear unkempt harold/ chaotic evil monk rare rarity / rough rider shield/ grognozzle/ sheriffs badge
Zero Assassin ability to create a decoy of himself in return draws aggro and increases your damage for a few secs/ very good melee character and gun wielder, has a very high rate of fire meaning ammo waste very fast
Favorite gear: unkempt harold/ chaotic evil rouge/ sandhawk/ bee shield/ and grog nozzle
Maya Siren ability to hold a enemy in place so it wouldn't move/shoot or known as phaselock/ Very good character sporting high dps and survivability noting much to say other than she is awesome character to use.
Favorite gear: Sandhawks/bee shield/ legendary cat class mod/ grog nozzle
Axton commando like in the previous game the commando uses a similar turret but instead of gaining the healing benefit it allows for 2 turrets/ one of the least favored characters of all, reason unknown but does a decent amount of damage but in higher levels it starts to show
How to get more fps
Well for starters every hardware is different but this tests were done with a amd a8-5600k apu stock clocked and with 2x16gb1600mhz ram using the igpu, since my main system will have no noticeable fps increase because 2op

Fullscreen
vsync off
framerate smoothed 22-62fps
resolution 1280x720
Af 8x
bulletdecals off
foliage distance far
Texture quality med
Game detail med
View distance med
FxAA on
physx off
avg fps 42-47
max 79 no fps cap
min 19
pretty bad fps but with these tweaks listed below fps gains will be noticed
Ini modifications
1.Disable cel shading
First things this makes the black outlines gone some people like it other don't but if fps is your main concern this is highly recommend. First find the the borderlands config file by going here
C:\Users\Username\Documents\My Games\Borderlands 2\WillowGame\Config once here find the willow engine.ini open in textpad.
second is hit ctrl+f to bring a finder type process and locate this line DefaultPostProcessName=WillowEngineMaterials.WillowScenePostProcess and change it to DefaultPostProcessName=WillowEngineMaterials.RyanScenePostProcess
This alone rose my fps by 10-20 fps depending on the place
avg fps 58-62
max 79-83 no fps cap
min 24
Note:this works on all 3 of the borderlands games

Tweaks that might work for a better fps on your pc!
this tweaks were tested on the pc used for this tutorial but didn't notice any changes atleast for me so i recommend you still give them a try before ruling them out
1.Shadows
find this line DynamicShadows=True and change to DynamicShadows=False for some improves fps drastically by disabling shadows and putting blob shadows no noticeable difference between them.
2.God rays
To disable this doesnt really give a huge boost to performance but if you must then here it is.
find this line bAllowLightShafts=True and change to bAllowLightShafts=False
