How to Resolve Windows 10 Installation Stuck At 32% Error

If you're trying to upgrade to Windows 10 from 7 or 8 but cannot proceed because the setup keeps getting stuck at 32% (Installing Drivers & Features 6% Overall 32%) then you've come to the right thread. In this tutorial i'll show you a workaround* for this problem.

1.Running Windows Update Troubleshooting
Sometimes there are problems with Windows Update that prevent setup from installing properly to resolve this go to Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Troubleshooting then choose Fix problems with Windows Update. If this doesn't resolve the problem continue to step 2.

2.Trying To Upgrade From A Windows 10 ISO
If it still doesn't work you can try upgrading from a Windows 10 ISO instead If it STILL gets stuck at 32% proceed to step 3.

3.Updating Your Drivers
More Often Than Not, The upgrade gets because Windows Update cannot find updated drivers for your PC's components to resolve this you can use Driver Support then manually update outdated drivers detected by Driver Support. You can manually update your drivers by Searching for the updated drivers of the specific device on the Internet > Downloading the updated drivers > Going to Device Manager > Then finding the specific device > Right-click the device > click Update Driver Software > choose Browse My Computer > Selecting the downloaded drivers > Wait for it to install. Keep doing this until all drivers are updated.

4.Turning Off As Many Devices As Possible e.g. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Devices
You can also try turning off Wi-Fi during installation because Installation uses Windows Update to search for updated drivers but since you've already updated it yourself, you can safely turn it off.

5.Unplugging As Many USB Devices As Possible e.g. Mouse, Keyboard
Try unplugging as many USB devices as possible so that Windows doesn't have to find preconfigured drivers for it.

6.Checking What Works And What Doesn't
It's possible that after the upgrade (If it was successful) other stuff in your PC won't work for a number of reasons. This is more common if you're upgrading from XP or Vista from an Installation Disc that you bought.
1.The manufacturer of the device hasn't provided drivers for Windows 10
2.The device doesn't support Windows 10
3.Windows 10 doesn't support the device
4.The hardware is just plain old



*This workaround is based from my experience of upgrading my Vista laptop that took me 3-4 days to finally install Windows 10, so i would like to share what i have done.
*This may also fail if your system doesn't meet the requirements.
