Every so often your files become inaccessible due to sudden shutdown, virus infection, or any other reason. Microsoft Word documents are being widely used by many users to store valuable data. Hence, Microsoft included an inbuilt recovery feature in MS Word Open and Repair to repair corrupt Word document. This feature enables Word application to recover doc/docx file on its own. If somehow you are having trouble accessing the doc or docx file then you can use this function and repair the inaccessible Word file in an instant. Follow the below steps to recover corrupt/damaged docx file of Microsoft Word 2013 using Open and Repair function.
Step 1. Start MS Word then go to File menu on the top left corner as shown below.
Step 2. Select Open to open a word file which need to be repaired.
Step 3. Click on Computer > Browse to locate the corrupt document as shown in below figure.
Step 4. Now go to the arrow next to Open button. Scroll down and select Open and Repair option.
