The wasteland of a post apocalyptic world can be a lonely place, but it doesn't have to be. Fallout 4 has quite the number of companions you can snuggle up to. But how do you get them to like you, you ask? Well, each companion likes and dislikes different things, so it depends on the companion you are hoping to woo.

Step 1) Max out their affection towards you. Your best bet for raising their attitude towards you would be to go out and adventure with them, while doing things they like. This is by far is the easiest way to raise their attitude, but it can also take the longest to get them to idolize you. Another way you can do this is by performing an action they like, that doesn't involve going on a quest. For example, taking chems in front of Hancock. You'll get a notification that they liked it, and you can then save and reload your game and do the action again. You can keep doing this until they have maxed out their affection towards you. When they have reached the idolized affection status you will receive a unique buff depending on which companion it is as well.

Step 2) Do a quest for your companion. Many romance companions will require you to do a quest for them, talk to them once they like you and see if any of the dialog options lead towards you having to do a quest. If they do, head on out with your companion to do that.

Step 3) Talk to them! Once they have max affection, and if they are able to be romanced, you'll get the option of making a persuasion check. I would suggest saving before you do this in case you fail it, as it is based on charisma and luck. Once you succeed this check, which can take some reloading if your charisma and luck are low, you'll have successfully romanced this companion!

Step 4) Do it again with more companions! You can romance as many as you like and they all seem to be okay with it. Happy romancing!
