Want to keep your settlements connected so you can share the workshop inventory no matter what settlement you go to? Check out this guide to see how you can do this.

Step 1) Become a local leader.
In order to connect all of the settlements, you're going to need the first rank of the local leader perk. This requires a charisma of 6, but is definitely worth it in the later parts of the game where you have many settlements to run.

Step 2) Find a settler.
Head to the settlement you want to set up a settler to become the courier for. This will remove him from the settlement workforce, so he won't be able to work on anything in that settlement any more. Walk up to the settler and one of the options shown along the bottom of the screen is going to be to assign him to set up a supply line. It will show which button to press to start this process.

Step 3) Assign him to a settlement.
When you choose the option to assign him or her to set up a supply line, you'll be shown to a map of the world. Simply find the settlement you want to send him to, and select it. This will now link the two instantly. Also, any settlements either of them are linked to already will ALSO be linked. This allows you to form chains or circles of supply lines and you can potentially link all of your settlements.

Since the link starts to work right away, you can now access everything in the other settlements workbenches right away and start building using the other settlements junk items. Happy building!
