Even though modern LCD monitors no longer suffer from screen burning, a screensaver is still a good idea. Not only does it hide your work while you’re not around, it also adds an extra layer of security if you have to enter a password to get back to the desktop. There are a lot of ways to personalize the desktop and here is how to change your screen saver settings in Windows 10.

Change screen saver settings in Windows 10
1. Navigate to Settings, Personalization, Lock Screen.
2. Select the Screen saver settings text link at the bottom of the right pane.
3. Change Screen saver, the wait time and whether to display the logon screen.

The Wait time dictates how long the computer will sit idle before the screen saver kicks in. A sensible timer could be anything from 1 minute to 5 minutes. It depends entirely on how you use your computer. Enabling the logon screen means you will have to enter your account password to access the desktop.

By default, Windows has six screen savers, blank, 3D text, Bubbles, Mystify, Photos and Ribbons. If you select 3D text, hit Settings and another dialog screen will appear which allows you to configure exactly what text appears and how.

If you select Photos and click Settings, a different dialog windows appears that allows you to set exactly what images appear and how they are displayed.
