Just when you think you've got the bosses in Dark Souls figured out, they decide to throw something at you that is big, scary, and was probably never human, unlike the last two. On top of that, there are two new twists with this guy. One, he isn't alone. Not only do you have to watch him, but there will be other undead in the area that will come to fight you at the same time. Two, you can't just swing blindly and hack him apart. You're going to have to aim your attacks at his vulnerable areas.
Step 1)Learn his vulnerabilities.
Since you are going to need to hit certain spots on him, you'll need to figure out what those spots are. I'll give you a hint, he still has two legs, and something there between them. That's right, those weird gross fluid filled looking things dangling there are his weak point, and your target. Don't just go charging in though, wait for your opportunity to get in and deal some damage. You'll also notice a few smaller versions of these on his arms and legs, those can deal some damage to him as well if you pop them.
Step 2)Break the sac and get to stage 2.
Once the sac on his front bursts, the floor below will collapse and you'll be dropped into a new area to continue the fight, this will happen around the time the boss is around half health.
Step 3) Stay the course.
In the second stage of the fight the only real change is going to be the arm that bursts out of his midsection, watch out for this because if you get grabbed by it you are going to be taking a lot of damage. Other than that though, you'll be repeating the same process and going for those fluid sacs to cause damage until you bring him down.
Hopefully with these tips, and by keeping moving, you'll be able to bring the big tree down by kicking him where it counts. Good job! If not, get back there and keep trying, you'll get him eventually.
