This can be one of the more frustrating bosses in the game, as it is very hard to gauge if you are actually doing any damage, or how close you might be to beating him. If you are more of a mage type, this can be even harder, leave your magic at the door and bring a basic weapon of some sort, you're going to need it.
Step 1)Attack his bracelets, not him.
The golden bracelets on his wrists stand out like a sore thumb, which usually means 'attack here' in most games. This fight is no exception to that rule. The difference though, is that when you attack the bracelets it doesn't actually do any damage to the boss, so you can't tell if you are doing anything to him or not.
Step 2)Avoid the adds, block the shock wave.
You're going to need a decent shield to survive the shock waves from when he raises his sword high and brings it down to cause a large shock wave of energy. There will also occasionally be a few skeletal adds that he is going to summon that can be easily dispatched. Keep on the bracelets as often as you can while avoiding these two threats.
Step 3)Break the bracelets.
With enough blows those bracelets are going to shatter and do an incredible amount of damage to the boss all at once. Breaking both of the bracelets should be more than enough to bring him down.
Without his bracelets, the boss is going to fade away into nothingness, congratulations on your boss kill.
