This boss is very intimidating, I mean, he's just an empty suit of armor with a big shield and an even bigger axe. He shouldn't be too hard to deal with though, I mean, how quick can an empty suit of armor be? Right? Well... Apparently pretty quick. Have fun!
Step 1)Bring a frost weapon.
He is weak against frost, and with some good dodging you can get behind him and get enough consecutive attacks in to trigger the burst damage from the frost ability. Be it by enchanting your weapon when you go in, or bringing a weapon that already comes with frost damage on it.
Step 2)Get behind him.
This one can be easier said than done, but with some practice and learning his moves you'll get the hang of it. Or get smacked around and die until you do. Either or. Most of his attacks are a series of three swipes, left to right, and then either a shield bash or an overhead swing. If you time your rolls well, you can dodge all three and end up behind him to get a few swings in before you have to dance back and start over again.
Step 3)Be aware of your surroundings!
This one is probably the most important in this fight. You can tunnel vision the boss all you like and have all his moves down, and still lose the fight just because you got knocked off the edge, or because you rolled the wrong way into the abyss. His attacks will destroy the railings on the edges, or even knock you right through the railings to your death.
There will also be a few butterflies throwing missile attacks at you from either side, but you'll be dodging so much you'll probably accidentally avoid these anyway so they aren't much to be concerned about. It is possible that there will be a barrage of these incoming just when the boss dies though, so stay aware and dodge around a bit as he falls just in case.
