All apps within the Start menu is an alphabetized browse list of all the programs you have installed on your PC. The list includes every single app or program Windows recognizes so can be a long list, some of which may not be even remotely useful. So if you want to add or remove items in All apps in the Windows 10 Start menu, here’s how.

The behavior of apps within the All apps depends on whether it is a third-party program, a universal app or something else. Some third party and Windows Store apps and be deleted from the Programs folder no problem. Others have to be uninstalled.

Add items to All apps in Windows 10
To add an app or program that Windows 10 didn’t pick up itself, do this.

1. Type or paste ‘%AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs’ into Windows explorer.
2. Either drag and drop a program shortcut into this folder or right click the program icon and select ‘Send to’ and then ‘Desktop (create shortcut)’ and drag and drop into the folder.
3. The app should now appear in All apps.

Remove items from All apps in Windows 10
To remove an app or program from All apps, we need to remove it from the Programs folder.

1. Type or paste ‘%AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs’ into Windows explorer if you closed the window.
2. Find the app or program you want to remove and delete the shortcut from the folder. This will only delete the shortcut in All apps, not the program itself.
3. Log out and back in again to reflect the changes.

That’s all there is to adding or removing items in All apps in the Windows 10 Start menu.
