If you are in possession of an Intel based system that is dated and is running on a recent iteration of Microsoft's Windows platform or on the latest hardware on the most recent of OSes then you may encounter an error message within device manager to be like this;

This occurs when the drivers necessary for your OS to communicate with your device are lacking or missing. This tutorial will show you how to rid your system of such an issue.

    ■Open your browser and type asus.com/Motherboards/MAXIMUS_VII_GENE/HelpDesk_Download/ into the address bar and hit enter.

    Please note: The drivers necessary per your OS are found off your motherboard's support site. You are free to use the MEI installer found on other manufacturer's site so long as it conforms to your chipset and that the driver is of a latter revision.

    ■Click on the drop down menu to guide you to the drivers for the OS you're working with.

    ■Scroll down to Chipset and click on it to expand the menu.

    ■We will require MEI(Management Engine Interface) drivers from this list.

    ■Click on Next to continue with installation.

    ■Click on Finish to close the installation window.

    You should head down to Device Manger and notice that there are no devices flagged with a yellow exclamation mark indicating that the PCI Controller has bee installed successfully.
