Civilization 6: England Guide

England, or the Great British Empire, is one of the 18 civilizations you can play as in the new civilization game. England has always been an empire stretching over seas to new continents, and their abilities and unique units in this game reflect that and will give you the chance to expand in the same way here.

England's Leader

Queen Victoria leads the English, and will grant the special ability 'Pax Britannica' to people who decide to take up the crown and lead the English to victory. All found and conquered cities on a continent other than your home continent receive a free melee unit. You will also gain the Redcoat unique unit once the Military Science technology is researched, which is a stronger infantry unit. This can encourage you to expand into new continents quickly, as not only will you get a city out of it, but a military unit as well.

Special Unique Ability

Each Archaeological Museum holds 6 Artifacts instead of 3 and can support 2 Archaeologists at once. Archaeological Museums are automatically themed when they have 6 Artifacts. This can be great for bringing in tourism and culture quickly in the later game.

Special Unique Building

England gets the unique building of the Royal Navy, which replaces the harbor district. On top of the standard effects of a Harbor, the Royal Navy Dockyard provides +1 Movement for all units built in Dockyard and +2 Gold when built on a foreign continent. This will help England rule the seas, which is what it was known for as well, by having it's ship move that much faster than anyone elses.

Unique Unit

England's unique unit is the Sea Dog, a renaissance era naval ship. It is unique in that other civilizations can't see it until they have a unit adjacent to it, and on top of that it can also capture enemy ships so that with each victory your naval force grows even stronger.

With these abilities and unique units you have a few options on how to go about achieving victory with England, as they are very well rounded. It is good to focus on expanding your civilization to new continents as soon as possible, and building up your navy to keep the seas under your control.
