Hello everyone from the internet, today I will be giving you a step by step tutorial on how to install RAM, but before I start I want to talk a little about RAM. RAM is Random Accessed Memory which is the storage space for data used by the operating system and other programs while the computer is in use. RAM is volatile, meaning that it exists only while the computer is powered on and changes along with the system's immediate requirements. Without RAM you will not be able to use your computer because you will not have data being stored and transferred to allow the OS (Operating System) to run. Now that you know a little about RAM I am going to tell you how to add and or replace RAM.

Step One: First off to be able to even upgrade your RAM you will need to know what type of RAM you need as in DDR2, DDR3, DDR3L, or DDR4. If your mobo supports DDR3 get that if your mobo support DDR4 get that so on so forth.

Step Two: Now how to know what component is the RAM sticks. RAM sticks look like this https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjg3drem97TAhVJ0FQKHbclCOgQjRwIBw&url=http%3A%2F%2Fblog.servermonkey.com%2Fservers-101-how-much-ram-do-you-need&psig=AFQjCNFusgn4gN2zl7mbk631ZMA5pwjvcw&ust=1494261421855864 or this https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjh-Zbmm97TAhVIzlQKHXTqBv4QjRwIBw&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.centrecom.com.au%2Fdesktop-ram&psig=AFQjCNFusgn4gN2zl7mbk631ZMA5pwjvcw&ust=1494261421855864

Step Three: Now that you know what RAM looks like what you need to do is push down on the knobs on each side of the stick (lever that goes down on the top and bottom of the sticks of RAM), once you do that you then pull it out and set them down somewhere safe.

Step Four: Now that you got the RAM sticks out now you need to grab the sticks of RAM you just purchased and then put them in the way they fit, but remember if you have a MOBO that has TWO different colored RAM Slots you will have to put it in the same color slot if you only got two, but if you got 4 you put the RAM of the same size in the same color slot and the odd sized RAM in the other remaining two (or it can be the same size stick aswell) (size as in gigabytes of space)

Step Five: Now that you got the RAM put into the slots all you gotta do it put the side panel back on the PC then boot it up and let it detect its new shiny hardware!

Congratulations you have finally reached the end and you now have the upgraded space for your RAM to allow your PC to run better. Now that you know how to change and replace RAM you should now read up on how to change CPUs, GPUs, MOBOs, and PSUs if you dont know how.

Please feel free to correct me on anything if I got anything wrong and also feel free to ask any questions if you are still confused!
