How to Fix Photoshop Not Opening Issues in MacOS Sierra

Photoshop is great for photo editing, but the Photoshop app sometimes has problems loading in MacOS Sierra. This problem also appears in systems that have recently upgraded to MacOS Sierra.
It is possible to fix the problem yourself. To do it, follow these simple steps.

How to Fix Photoshop Launch Problem in Safe Mode?

1. 'Restart' Your Mac
Click on the ‘Apple’ logo in the navigation panel on top of your home screen. A drop-down list will appear. Click on the ‘Restart’ button. Your Mac will turn off, and restart.

2. Get into ‘Safe Mode’
Hold down the ‘Shift’ key as your Mac restarts. Do this until it boots into ‘Safe mode’. You will see the ‘Safe mode’ log in screen.
Booting into safe mode helps prevent start up apps, which might be a reason why Photoshop crashes. It also forces a check of your start up disk.

3. 'Restart' Mac to 'Normal Mode'
'Restart' your Mac from Safe mode by clicking on the ‘Apple’ logo in the navigation panel in the home screen. Click ‘Restart’ in the drop-down menu.
As your Mac restarts, allow it to boot normally. You should now be able to open Photoshop.

How to Fix Photoshop Launch Problem by Logging into a Separate Administrator Account.

1. Open ‘System Preferences’
Click on the ‘Apple’ logo. Select ‘System Preferences’ from the drop-down list. The ‘System Preferences’ window will open.

2. Click ‘Users & Groups’
Select the ‘Users & Groups’ icon in ‘System Preferences’. The ‘Users and Groups’ dialog box will open.

3. Authenticate User Addition
Click on the ‘lock’ at the bottom of the dialog box. Enter your ‘Username’ and ‘Password’ in the pop-up that appears, followed by clicking the ‘Unlock’ button. This lets you add another user account.

4. Create ‘Administrator Account’
Hit the ‘+’ button on the bottom of the ‘Users and Groups’ settings. A dialog box where you can choose to create an administrator account will appear. Fill in your ‘Full Name’, ‘User Name’, and ‘Password’ details, then click ‘Create User’.
By opening Photoshop from another administrator account, you will avoid the corrupt start up, and certain network policy blocks.
