You should have mentioned about malaria in Far Cry 2. That's definitely one of the worst game idea EVAR!!! My opinion is that Far Cry 2 went overboard with "realism" that stripped the game of the very basic element of game: fun. It's not fun to have a gun blow up in your hand. It's not fun to have malaria. It's not fun to experience back blast of recoilless rifle.
I have to disagree with Ben and Rob about Far Cry 2 AI. The AI was designed to run over player, and so that's how they react. It's ridiculous in occasions, but otherwise well done. I've been run over by AI many times, to the degree that I instinctively jump side ways when I hear engine roaming beside me in real life.
The tedious driving maybe part of the problem of open world, sandbox type game for Far Cry 2. I remember driving in GTA series is also quite tedious. However, they kind of screwed up by programming the way everybody shoots you on the road, which results in boring repetitive drive/shoot cycle that is totally anti-fun. They should have given player mission to acquire false document for both UFLL and APR so that player no longer need to shoot through check points.
Jackal is dubiously resembling Jack Carver. They both speak similar way, and have extremely bad taste of shirt. The possibility that Jackal is Jack Carver is actually pretty high. Maybe we'll have Jackal missions in expansion pack telling us how he ended up as a boat captain for hire.
Crysis has better graphics, graphics design, gameplay mechanism and level design, but mostly everything the same or equivalent to any previous games with North Korean, invading Aliens and both. Boss fight is next to total disappointing. However, I think Far Cry 2 has better weapons. You don't see any other game comes with Carl Gustav M3 recoilless rifle and Type 63 mortar.
Nevertheless, I must praise Ubisoft for their great job of creating FC2. This is probably one of very few games that don't have somebody yelling at the player telling me what and how to do things since System Shock 2. I get to do the thing MY way, when I want and how I want. Fallout 3 is probably better comparison to Far Cry 2 in terms of gameplay concept. Even Ben Yahtzee Croshaw said Fallout3 pretty good.
welll unfortunately , secruom thinsk my cputer is new every tiem i run certain games , ie securom flips out an throws a tantrum when i got back to a game that has it , (it decices my pc is a new one for soem reason and thus kills an activation) that and EA , and ubisoft are b-tards for usign se-crap-om , are two of the reasons why i will not be getting these two game. in the eman time i'm looking forward my x-mas present game my bro is gettgin me .. (ill give you a hint it begins with and F and ends with a 3 and is the collectors edition)
I also have to disagree regarding the AI. It IS real because in real life you get people who are good at what they do and people who aren't! In the same way you have enemies that are... well trained if you like, and the ones that aren't. Remember, they are mercenaries...

Ergo the "fluctuating" AI in FarCry 2.
Hope you get it now
WOW! This review just complelely blows it! At first, they barely mention Crysis Warhead, even though they show footage of it. They say the maps are too big and not well designed! LOL! That is true in the original Crysis, but not in Wars!
sry, pressed submit accidentaly :S
This comparison feels really biased! Everytime Ben and Rob give a point to Cryiss, they sound like they're dreading it! At the end when they bring crysis out as winner, it isn't convincing at all. Also, I don't like the idea of comparing FC2 to the original Crysis because that game is a year old and the new Warhead boasts of extremely better performance! Ben said that he didn't like the storyline of Crysis and the Alien Mother ship... Fair enough but why not comment on Warhead's gameplay?
I waited soooo long and anticipated FC2 as much as Warhead, but to me it came drasticaly short. In terms of graphics, I feel FC2's aren't nearly that great, even though you can set everything to maximum without too much lag. If you want Crysis Warhead looking like that, you can set everything down and get almost as good fps as FC2.
In many areas, the huge map can get rather boring sometimes. I especially hated how anywhere you go, at every checkpoint people start shooting at you and chasing you. Drives me nuts when I have to get out and kill 20 of the exact same cars if I have to travel a bit!
This comparison was not fair! And a huge mistake they made was when they said that Crysis Wars is a good Mp although: "you have to buy 2 titles but the second one is cheaper" I have no idea where they get this as Warhead and Wars come together and are a stand-alone game that doesn't require anything else to play!
Hmm, I love TH's Second takes but this one blew it!
