One camera for stills & video

I've used video cameras since they were launched in the UK in the 70s.
Recently, I've had the pleasure of using a friends digi still camera - and would like to have one. Primarily so I can have a photo album on the pc and email pics to friends and family.
The question is - can I combine both functions in one product. Do the latest video cameras do both jobs - if so any recommendations & experiences ? - lets keep it sane and go for the cheaper end of the market though.

Yes there are cameras that can work as a digital camera for taking still shots and also as a computer camera for taking movies when connected to the computer. I have the same question, I too want recommendations on a camera that does both with a price tag of less than 150$.
Let's hope somebody comes here and answers us.
