I was wondering if anyone on the board attended Quakecon this year and could give some feedback on Quake Live. What are your thoughts, is it the next big thing to extend the life of Quake? Also, I have an amBX kit and have played it with Quake 4 and the added effects of lights, fans and a rumble pad are awesome. Was any information provided about whether Quake Live will be amBX enabled?

I am at Quakecon and I have been in beta test for QL for about 2 weeks now. I love it and think it is a great idea, but I unfortunately do not have any info about amBX being enabled. The beta is quite limited from what the final release will be like. Such as no match making, not all that many maps availible, no tdm yet, just (FFA, CTF, and Duel).

The game is shaping up VERY well and is going to be very good for the genre of Arena shooters imo. If I hear anything about amBX then I will let you know.

Best,

3Ball, thanks for the reply :) From what I have heard most people are enjoying playing QL and the tournament at Quakecon seems to have gone down well.

Any further updates would be appreciated. Cheers

Yea, the general perception of the game at the event it is quite good. Everyone seems to have loved it. I cant wait for it to officially launch. The matches were pretty exciting as well. Check out some of the coverage from the event. It is my understanding that Toms was there, so we should be seeing something from them this week about it I would assume.
