HI, I have a friend that build a computer,
System specs
Athlon 2000+ CPU TEMP IDLE 41c/CASE temp 27c
Soyo KT333 lite latest bios
512mb ddr PNY PC2100
Geforce 4 ti4200 Visiontek
Sound blaster Audigy GAMER
Linksys 10/100mb NIC
Windows XP HOME full version
4 case fans
Maxtor 40GB 5400rpm IDE
400watt power supply
Ok here is the problem whenever my friend try's to raise his fsb to 133 he gets blue screens and his sytem restarts.HE has tried raising the voltage but his system didn't post after changing the voltage settings. so after resetting his cmos his computer boots up but he wants to beable to raise the front side bus to 133 and higher if possible.
Myfriend isn't trying to overclock at the moment, he is just trying to get his frontside bus upto 133x2=266mhz fsb
but windows keeps on giving him blue screens. No matter how many times he reformats he still gets blue screens.
I told him to stay away from soyo boards based on VIA technology but he didn't listen.
THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO READ THIS!!!!!
I have made a promise to my friend that I will try my best to keep this thread alive and kicking until he fixes his problem . Please help my friend

Are you sure it's a 266 FSB processor and not a 200? I don't remember if they had a 200 FSB in that speed processor or not but never hurts to ask.
Maybe something with the memory isn't likeing a new setting. Are your timings set too fast that they won't run at 133?
Also poke around the BIOS for anythink linked to FSB speeds. Look for any kind of PCI/AGP timing setting that would be effected and make sure it's set right.
I had an epox board a while ago that I never got to run at the speeds it was supposed to. I replaced the mobo with another brand (asus) and never had any problems. Somtimes it's the luck of the draw...
