I had no problems at all purchasing a newer phone. Instead of the Nokia, I
opted to go for the LG VX6000. It cost me a pretty penny, but I think it
was worth it. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out a way to have the
key lights remain while the flip is open. The key lights always turn off on
me after a period of inactivity. I would rather have the key lights stay
on. Is there a way to do this that I have overlooked?

No, you haven't overlooked it. There isn't an option to adjust keypad
lighting. One of the few things I don't like about the 6000.
