I was thinking of grabbing the HD4850 and wanted to know how well Gears of War, Call of Duty 4 and Bioshock would run. I have a Pentium Dual Core E2160 OC'd to 2.7 ghz. Any info on how they would perform would be appreciated. Thanks

Should run maxed out no problems at all.

To expand on emp's post, it depends on your resolution.

1280x1024, yes, they should all run maxxed out without any problems (maybe a tiny bit of slowdown in extremely hectic exploding shiny scenes of epic doom with tons of physics but that's down to your CPU)

However if you're looking at 1920x1200 or higher (if you can go higher I want your monitor), the 4870 would be a better option.

All in all though the 4850 is a fantastic card and will give you truck loads of bang for your buck.

Final note, consider a CPU upgrade. Just some friendly advice.

I think the 4850 would max out all those games up to and including 1900x1200.

I'm running an 8800GTS 640 (Old version) and actually have all of these games.

Everything's running fully maxed out on an OC'd e6600 (2.8ghz). The HD4850 is more powerful than my card, you shouldn't have any issues.

*Resolution is set at: 1680x1050 for me.

Thanks for the help everyone, I dont plan on playing anything higher than 1280X1024 so I should be set. As long as games run at 60+fps constant, I could care less about the resolution

Kraynor--I have an Nvidia 8600 GT OC currently. If you advise a CPU upgrade, would it be more beneficial to upgrade my CPU and keep the 8600 or upgrade the video card and keep the CPU?

You'll see MUCH more improvement in games by upgrading your GPU.

Definetly go with the GPU upgrade. I was simply making a suggestion for the future :)
