Madden 08 reinstallation

I have been having some difficulty reinstalling Madden 08 for PC, and because I am not very good at computers, this has been quite frustrating. I have had Madden installed on this particular computer before, so I know that it works- I just cant get it to!

At first, my computer told me that I did not meet the directx requirement, but when i tried to install it, my computer notified me that I already had directx on my computer (which I had expected). I tried to reinstall Madden again, and the directx message did not show.

Immediately thereafter, however, I encountered a different problem. After I choose to perform a typical user- default directory installation, and the installation window appears- but before it can even reach 1% completed, it stops at Support\EA help\*.*, and displays the following message:

A problem occurred while trying to transfer the file "E:Support\EA Help\es\r02.gif" from the media. Do you want to retry to copy the file, or cancel the installation?

Of course i have tried to retry, but unsuccessfully. Any and all advice is appreciated!
