I am currently building a new system and have some questions. I currently have and Asus A7N8X deluxe and want to get 1 gig or corsair DDR333 or DDR400 in 2 512MB blocks. This is going to be a gaming machine and after looking at TOM's 3 NForce mother board round up I am confused as to what kind of mem I should get. All the game benchmarks showed better results for the DDR333 and getting that would save me 70USD. What is better for games, the 333 or the 400? Will bios revisions increase the 400 perfomance in the future? WHAT SHOULD I DO!!!

Oh, I also have an Athlon XP 2600+. I also plan on getting the Geforce FX when it comes out. But as for memory, I want to know what one of the above 2 would be best for me.

you might as well save the money and go for ddr 333.i am running my xp 2400 at 166fsb in sync with my cas2 ddr 333 and it is amazing.the only real reason to spend the extra is if you intend to get one of the 400fsb bartons when they come out (the initial bartons will be 333fb).

Since I have a 2600+ can I push my bus to 333 with the DDR333? And is that considered sync??

the 2600 runs at 333fsb by default-unless you have one of the old 266fsb 2600s.do you know which it is?

It is the new 333mhz one. Just got it :) I think I will get the DDR333. From what I have seen, it seems to be faster than the 400 stuff in some cases.

Sending back my 2600+ (still sealed in retail box). Gona get the Barton CPU when it comes out. I am also gona get DDR400 to go with the Barton
