Looking through overclockers.com, they pointed to a post that solves a lot of bios problems with the Asus A7N8X, just replace the cmos battery. Dont have one of these myself, but if you do, see if it works

Forgive me f this has been posted here already, I have just seen a lot of problem posts with this board...

no, good post, from my research (been watching this board and forums for 2 months now to make sure i get a good buy) this does seem to be the problem. One person (sorry, forgot name) posted that his battery that was shipped tested at 2.95v instead of 3.3v. Another resurrected his board b4 rma'ing it with a new battery! This is a major problem. Yeha, get this board but get a new battery as well. That seems to be the link.

Hmmmmm.

This is interesting. Yeah, the "new" voltage on those is around 3.3v. And it's supposed to be a nominal 3v. So that 2.95v battery had seen an extra ordinary amount of use. Or it was just a bad battery.

I might take a look at it, but that seems highly unlikely that it would be the "source" of problems.
