Gosh I hope the moderators don't mind me posting this, I think this will be a really cool thread.

Let's have an "Under the hood" thread. So I decided to use my Logitech QuickCam Pro 3000 (which, mind you, doesn't produce the highest quality of pictures, but...) to make a record of one of my highly valued material objects.

Come on guys, let's see your computers. Even if you have to use an instant Polaroid camera and scan the photos in.

If the links don't work, copy and paste them into your browser's address bar (for some reason Topcities doesn't like indirect links sometimes :-S)

Over shot of inside the case

Close up of my Antec 400 watt PSU, and my Athlon XP 1800+ (FSB overclocked to 139), which I believe is covered by this heatsink http://www.tomshardware.com/cpu/20020916/cooler-55.html (though I bought it as a Comp USA brand)

The lower left hand corner with my LeadTek GF 4, 4200, 128MB, Sound Blaster Live X-Gamer 5.1, D-Link 10/100 NIC, system exhaust blower, USB HUB with MSI's D-Bracket, and the 40mm fan I applied to the heatsink over my SiS 745 chip :)

Lower right hand corner with a exposing my WD400-JB (top), and 20GB IBM GPX drives, with blue rounded IDE cables (my floppy cable is a rounded Vantec cable).

Upper right hand corner with my 52x Samsung CD-ROM, and 32x12x48 CyberDrive burner.

The back of my case

And now, my 17" AOC 7GL Spectrum, or whatever it is (it is shoddy, and can't get a good refresh rate without looking blurry) and me getting ready to post on Tom's ;-)

http://bradswebsite.topcities.com/my_computer/Untitled-8.jpg

My 512MB PC 2100 RAM (CL 2.5) in the overshot picture will soon be replaced with low latency Corsair PC 2700. I hope I am going to get a new monitor soon too :-S Out of view is my Logitech optical mouse and 2 piece stereo analog speakers.

What say you guys? Come on, let's see your PCs.

Well there's really no more room to bend those cables around anymore. I've tried, but there's not much I can do. I even cut one of the regular cables off of my power supply (I take take a pic of that too, I wrapped electrical tape around the wire ends)

Yes, they do get dusty indeed. However I clean it using cans of compressed air. I really don't have much to prop it up on, and I would hate to have "my god" fall off an elevated height and break all over the floor (the insurance company wouldn't be happy about replacing $2,000 worth of computer parts :-D )

If you two read the post he said they might not work, but if not to paste them into the address bar. I just clicked stop when the link was trying to open and pressed enter, it works that way.

I've got digital photos of my machine I built in Nov. I don't have them posted on a web site, so I can't link them here. To bad. I make a super clean install inside the case. It's takes a little time, but looks real good & doesn't hamper air flow at all.

I'm still learning & having fun doing it!! Trouble comes with the things you forget or overlook along the way that make it not so fun!!
