First off, is the system temp and mobo temp the same?

I've never seen this before in my life! My system temp is running hotter than my CPU! This is what I have:

Abit KD7 Mobo
Athlon XP 2000+
Abit Saluro GF4 ti 4200

I have sufficient cooling. even if I didn't, my system temp shouldn't run hotter than my CPU. Every other computer I've had, the system runs much cooler than the CPU. My CPU temp is running between 40 and 52. My system temp, however, runs typically between 53 and 61! how is this possible? I've already RMA'd the mobo and the new one does the same thing. Could it be a voltage problem somewhere? A power supply problem? Oh yeah, I have system monitoring software and the Vbat keeps running high as well. Any takers on this one?

Maybe you have the sensors reversed in the monitoring software? That would do it.

maybe yor chipset is getting really worm...or your psu... otherwise..
you may not have good air traffic inside your case, make sure that you have a rear fan to take hot air out, and maybe a front one to get 'fresh' air in.
i always have my case open

Unsure that you have positive air flow into your case ie. slightly more air pressure in the case than outside.
