unregistering XP

I purchased XP Home Edition upgrade and found out that my hardware drivers
are not updatable. Therefore I cannot run XP and had to uninstall. Now I'm
stuck with an XP program I can't use and wonder if there is anyway I can
unregister from my machine so I can sell it or let someone else use it.
Anyone out there able to help?

There is no "de-activation" process, as such.

Assuming a retail license (OEM licenses are not transferable),
simply remove WinXP from the computer it is currently on and sell,
donate, or give it away. If it's been more than 120 days since you last
activated that specific Product Key, the new owner will most likely be
able to activate via the Internet without problem. If it's been less,
he/she might have to make a 5 minute phone call.
