Thanks, but I'd prefer to know what I'm downloading first. .Kkreiger was a full 3D FPS that had dynamic shadows, HDR, and a few other neat effects that were able to fit in a 97KB .exe thanks to procedurally generated content.
Will check this out when i get home, wont run on work laptop. Will see if it runs on a 4870 as it wont run on work laptop, requirements below from readme on zip file.
Requirements
===============================
Made On A Nvidia DemoBox;
2Gb Ram
Core Duo Intel Cpu
Windows Vista
Geforce 8800 GTS 512
are you sure it was wise to download an unknown zip file thats only 4 kb big? I mean, have you ever heard of malware?
I have expendable installs for checking out dodgy downloads, as this may appear to be, so no problems either way. Now since I have downloaded this file, I have not come across any problems with it yet, and have extracted the zip contents and attempted to run both executables that were inside, but work laptop wont run it.
Sure anyway for the craic i will run it later on my home pc, and post some screen shots of the game or the damage it does to my pc lol.
Google "4k for Nvision08" for more info on this file.
I took my chances and watched it after checking for viruses of course. quite impressive. It is a 3d scene that is being made on GPU in real time. File only contains objects and instructions that is why it is so small. However when working 720p takes more than 300MB of RAM
yeah sure, it takes alot of resources and needs high specs to run, but i mean what kind of compression technology has made this demo possible with only 4 KB?
The demo creator used mathmatical instructions (i.e. computer code) to create the effects rather than using lots of saved 3d models and textures.
By doing things this way, the file size for the demo is greatly reduced, as things such as programming loops can be used to duplicate the things making up the scene and generate their movement. Is still a great technical feat though
